JOIN US AS THE PILGRIMAGE TEAM MAKES THEIR WAY THROUGH OUR DIOCESE
Over the past three years, our parish, diocese and Catholics around the country have been praying for a Eucharistic Renewal. Specifically, at Christ the King we have been doing this through our celebration of the Mass, the Sunday Preaching, the Music, our renewed emphasis on Eucharistic Adoration, and our Acts 2:42 groups. Now it is time for people to join in the Eucharistic Congress that will be taking place in Indianapolis IN, July 17-21. A procession will get our American Church there, and part of that procession will go through our Diocese of Owensboro June 30 – July 3. Here are the details of that procession and an invitation for all to join in this Eucharistic procession. All are welcome.
In Easter Joy, Fr. Carl McCarthy
A pilgrimage is a trip made for a religious purpose to a holy site. It is to help us remember that our whole life is a journey toward our eternal home in Heaven. On this journey we are strengthened through prayer and the sacraments, especially the Eucharist, which is our food for this earthly pilgrimage.
Rooted in the daily celebration of the Mass—prefigured by the two disciples Emmaus encountered two millennia ago—this will be one of the largest Eucharistic processions in history. “Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.” - Psalm 119:105.
June 30th through July 3rd the Diocese of Owensboro will be hosting the 10- person team pilgrimaging to Indianapolis for the National Congress July 17. They start their journey in the Diocese of Brownsville, TX, on May 19. Join us in being a part of this movement.
